The world, as I see it, is colorful, complex, filled with beauty, and often chaotic. As an artist, I translate my vision of the world into paintings that convey those qualities. My goal is to offer viewers a sense of peace and spirit in the hopes of balancing the chaos. I am particularly drawn to the vibe and backdrop of places like Sausalito, CA; West Marin, CA; Telluride, CO; Deadwood, SD; Savannah, GA; and Lewes, DE. These places inspire me to portray moments in time that reflect the vibrancy of life against a backdrop of nature at her finest--from the blue waters of the Pacific, to the splendor of the Rockies, to the grandeur of the Atlantic. I paint primarily plein air using oil and wood panels or canvas. Oil allows me to use passionate brush strokes and translucent color that I often see in a sky or mountain or ocean. I not only paint what I see, I paint what I feel when I am looking upon the landscape. I choose to paint beauty, and my portrayals celebrate the every-day in a distinctive way.
